  1. Comparison of fold changes for NOS1, fibronectin and α-actinin with densitometry measurements on immunostained sections. Six images were collected for each immunostained section. Mean pixel intensities were calculated for each image by sampling 20 randomly-distributed regions of each image using the measurement package of the Axiovision software (Zeiss). Statistical comparisons were performed using ANOVA. A P value < 0.05 was considered statistically significant.
