Two-dimensional 1H total correlation spectroscopy (TOCSY) spectra of components of UDP- N -acetyl- D -glucosamine (UDP-GlcNAc). (a) Ribose ring region of the TOCSY spectrum (see Figure 3). The ribose moieties of the free nucleotides are essentially completely labeled by 48 h. Adenine nucleotides AXP H1'-H2' (red); uracil nucleotides UXP H1'-H2' (purple). (b) Uracil ring in UXP shows the scrambled pattern in the C5-C6 positions of U as in the precursor aspartate residue (Figure 3).
