Functional domains and motifs conserved in animals or conserved in the LECA are color coded as inset, and inferred membrane trafficking pathways are shown. Other Golgi proteins were also identified as present in the LECA: TM9SF3 and Sec16. However, their role, if any, in differentiating separate Golgi compartments is unknown
