Recapitulation of the WISH data performed on zebrafish embryos from 36 to 72 hpf showing the expression onset time and the distribution profile in the gut determined by WISH for 17 transcription factors known to be involved in pancreatic endocrine cell (PEC) differentiation. **Based on RNA-seq data from FACS-sorted sox17:dsRED cells of the microdissected intestine at 52 hpf, insm1a, insm1b and foxo1a are already expressed in the gut at 52 hpf (Reuter et al., article in preparation). The two last columns indicate the expression level in EECs and in enteric neurons (ENs) as determined by RNA-seq in normalized CPM. (N.D.: not determined; −: not detected by WISH; ✔: detected by WISH). All these TF are expressed at significant levels in EEC, except ascl1b, nkx6.1, nkx6.2 and mnx1.
