Lifestyle transitions among mammals. Colours correspond to the specialised lifestyles, i.e. aerial, aquatic, and subterranean; black corresponds to ‘non-specialised’ lifestyles. States at the nodes are reconstructed with stochastic character mapping. Lifestyle transitions were emphasised with larger nodes for clades and coloured branches for single taxa.
