Recombinant NPM decreases proliferation without induction of cell death. hCmPCs were treated either with recombinant rNPM (0.5μg/ml) or boiled NPM (bNPM) for 24h or 48h in full media. Then, proliferation, apoptosis and cytotoxicity assays were performed. a Proliferation assay of hCmPCs showed that rNPM significantly decreased the proliferation of hCmPCs at 24h and 48h compared to Ctrl cells (n = 7, *P < 0.05). bNPM instead, did not decrease proliferation. b, c Apotosis and cytotoxicity assays showed no significant differences among the different treatments (n = 6)
