Phylogenetic reconstruction of horizontally acquired tetranychoid DOGs. Maximum-likelihood phylogenetic analysis of 494 tetranychoid DOGs. The 14 tetranychoid genera and T. urticae are color coded. Arches indicate lineage, genus, or species-specific clades. We named these lineage-specific clades (D, d1, or a3) in accordance with Matsuda et al. [32]. An asterisk indicates that the T. urticae DOG was functionally expressed in this study. Only bootstrap values above 65 and at phylogenetically relevant nodes are shown. The scale bar represents 0.43 substitutions per site. A dashed branch indicates that this branch was shortened to improve figure clarity.
