Incubation of the IgLCs at acidic pH leads to the formation of amyloid fibrils. A Incubation of the IgLCs of this study at neutral pH does not lead to the formation of amyloid fibrils [13], whereas incubation at acidic pH (≤4) does. ThT fluorescence aggregation assay of the IgLC samples at B pH 2, C pH 3 and D pH 4 monitored in high-binding plates in the presence of glass beads under conditions of mechanical agitation. The aggregation kinetics are analysed by the E increase of intensity and F aggregation halftime. G AFM height images of IgLC samples after aggregation at pH 2. The image size is 5 × 5 μm. The colour range represents the height from −2 to 15 nm. H Box plot of the observed values of the height is illustrated.
