The neuronal activity of a unit in Ins is shown at the bottom (black), together with a plot of the angle between head and body (blue, middle) and radial location in the arena (magenta, top). The trace shows the activity over 2 min of recording, starting at 15 min after session beginning. This is the same unit whose responses are analyzed in Fig. 6k. Red arrows at the bottom indicate head turns to the right, which are accompanied by an increase in firing rate. Gray lines indicate sound presentation onsets and yellow lines are reward times. Note that the activity of the unit does not seem to be related to radial location, sound times, and rewards
