Integrating the expression data from both wheat and F. graminearum as well as using the genetic variability from both species allowed to identify 142 conserved susceptibility genes. The manipulation of the regulation hubs as well as negative regulators of plant immunity in order to suppress the defense response appeared to be a key step in the infectious process of F. graminearum
