EmIR1 immunohistochemistry on metacestode vesicles. Cryosections of in vitro cultivated metacestode vesicles were probed with the anti-EmIR1 antiserum (anti-EmIR1) and detected with a FITC-coupled anti-rabbit-antibody. Nuclei were visualized by Hoechst-staining (Hoechst). Parasite surface structures were visualized using a general anti-Echinococcus metacestode antibody (Anti-Echi; Ingold et al., 2001 [50]).
