The innervation is outlined (magenta) from our anti-HRP staining, the muscles redrawn after [49], with only a representative set of the external uterine muscles included. The two pairs of nerves, AbNvOv (abdominal nerve to the ovary) and AbNvUt (abdominal nerve to the uterus) branch from the 5th pair of nerves emerging from the abdominal region of the CNS [13].
